How to Style Timber Handles
Timber handles are most effective when they connect with another material or colour in the room. Pale oak pulls might echo timber flooring, while walnut handles can relate to furniture or darker decorative accents.
For a balanced result:
- Pair light timber with white, cream, sage or soft-grey cabinetry.
- Use dark timber against pale doors for a strong, refined contrast.
- Combine timber with black fixings for an industrial or contemporary edge.
- Match curved handles with rounded benchtops, mirrors or furniture.
- Repeat one timber species throughout adjoining spaces to create continuity.
- Keep surrounding details restrained when using large sculptural handles.
Timber also works well alongside stone, limewash, natural fibres and brushed metals. The goal is not to make every element match, but to create a consistent relationship between texture, tone and form.
